GROOMING

Our head veterinarian Dr. Rita Rivero closely oversees this department to make sure your pup is groomed as safely as possible. Your pet’s wellbeing is our top priority so we are mindful of your pet’s age, personality, and breed, making sure to cater to all personal needs. Whether your dog is 12 weeks/ 12 years old, or outgoing/ shy, we do our best to make grooming a pleasurable experience for all dogs by providing a welcoming, stress- free environment. We provide one on one spa service with lots of love and attention, focusing and interacting with your pet during their spa visit.

We use safe and gentle tools and products, including biodegradable oatmeal shampoo and nourishing conditioner for your pet’s sensitive skin. Grooming appointments can be scheduled on their own, during a daycare reservation, or during your pet’s boarding stay.

We’re provided some Grooming Tips below for you to use at home, and to prepare your pup for his or her first grooming!

PUPPIES: It is important to get your young puppy used to the grooming experience. We recommend constantly petting their paws/ ears and massaging their neck, back, and belly.

GROOMING TIPS

  • We suggest a doggie walk 30 min prior to your pup’s grooming visit.
  • To prep your pup for his or her first grooming, we recommend constantly petting their paws, ears and massaging their neck, back and belly.
  • Your pup should be groomed from 3-8 weeks depending on breed, age, and heath.
  • If you like your pup's fur a little longer, please make sure to brush your pup daily to prevent matting and tangling of hair.
  • We recommend using a nourishing conditioner after shampooing to moisturize fur and skin, prevent skin issues, and help prevent matting.
  • Although we check and clean your pup's ears every grooming visit, keep up with checking his/her ears every week.
  • For excessive tear staining, make sure to visit your vet as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can increase your dog’s comfort level by keeping the fur around the eyes trimmed, and gently clean the corners of the eyes with a cotton ball moistened with warm water.
  • We are happy to give you more personalized grooming tips at your next visit!
